Foreign Singers Perform at Private Wedding After Concert in Ashgabat

On October 9, a show featuring popular foreign performers Murat Boz and Hadise from Turkey, Nyusha from Russia, and Maya Diab from Lebanon took place at Ashgabat Stadium in the Turkmen capital. It is unclear what the event was dedicated to, as Turkmenistan had celebrated the anniversary of its independence 12 days earlier. However, a source told turkmen.news something interesting: the performers did not leave after the concert but instead appeared at a private event the following day. According to the source, it was a wedding in the presidential family.

The information is indirectly corroborated by Maya Diab’s social media posts. She captioned one video of herself wearing a gold dress, “Ready for tonight’s private occasion.” A second post from her stylists’ account was even more explicit: “Stunned in a gold dress while performing at a wedding in Turkmenistan yesterday.”

Murat Boz’s Instagram page states that concerts in Turkmenistan took place over two days, October 9 and 10, although his performance is officially known to have taken place only on the first day.

It is not yet known who got married, but observers in Ashgabat believe that only the president’s family could afford to bring performers of this caliber to the country for a private wedding.
